Corruption in Czech Lands in Interwar Period - Contingency or System Error?

This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of corruption and affairs linked thereto. Thesis researches corruption as a phenomenon of current time and introduces corruption affairs that took place and were massively discussed in daily press during the period of first republic (i.e. 1918-1938 on territory of Czechoslovakia). Because of finding out more about corruption affairs topical just after the creation of Czechoslovakia and learning more about the historical relations it is possible to understand why this problem is basically inevitable in this time. First part of the thesis researches corruption as a general phenomenon, focuses on its definition, forms and distinction. Also, causes and consequences of corrupting conduct are dealt with. Corruption is also introduced in a light of current legal stipulations. Part of this thesis is devoted to means and methods of measuring and finding out about corruptions. The second part of this work deals with corruption affairs in Czechoslovakia that took place between the world wars from the point of view of daily press and meeting in parliament.
